 Refuse Pick up Monday Garbage Collection - West Side of 5th west to Ruch Street, even numbered houses on Maple Street and Parkway West. Tuesday Garbage Collection - East side of 5th east to Front Street, Cherry Street and odd numbered houses on Maple Street. For changes to collections due to Holidays, see below: Changes for the month of May will take place the last week of the month. The Sanitation department will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. All collections will take place one day later: Garbage normally picked up on Monday will be picked up Tuesday, Garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be picked up Wednesday, Yard Waste will be picked up on Thursday this week and Friday will be Recycling pick up. To dispose of useable household items call American Family Services 610-435-1230 or Good Shepherd Thrift Shop 610-776-8379. Scrap appliances picked up by calling Marth's Disposal, ask for Roger at 610-262-9021. Sleeper sofa at $15 ea., box springs, mattresses, sofas at $10 ea., loveseats and recliners w/metal $8 ea., chairs, dressers, console TV's, upholstered vehicle seats and recliners w/out metal $5 ea. picked up by Borough. Call 610-262-6088. Excess garbage will be removed for an additional fee. For large clean ups or reconstruction, please obtain a dumpster from any disposal company. A dumpster permit must be obtained through the office at a fee of $10.00. 55 gallon drums will not be picked up by borough sanitation employees, Tree branches and carpeting should be cut to 3 foot lengths and bundled. Materials Not Accepted with trash: cement, brick, asphalt, dirt, stone, yard waste, tires, pressure treated wood, railroad ties, air conditioners, refrigerators, paint or flammables, asbestos, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, batteries, anti-freeze, motor oil, miscellaneous oils, unidentified closed containers, any hazardous materials. |
